How Many Sessions Do I Need?

With each session, hair is reduced. We recommend an initial course of 8-12 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart (depending on area and skin type)

What Does It Feel Like?

During laser hair removal, you may feel a sensation often described as a mild stinging or snapping feeling, similar to the flick of a rubber band against the skin. Some areas may be more sensitive than others, but discomfort is typically minimal and well-tolerated by most individuals. Advanced laser systems may incorporate cooling mechanisms to help alleviate any discomfort during the treatment. Overall, sensations vary from person to person, but many find the procedure manageable and relatively comfortable.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicles with concentrated light energy. The pigment absorbs the light, which then converts to heat and damages the follicle, inhibiting future hair growth. The surrounding skin remains unharmed because the laser selectively targets the darker hair follicles while leaving the lighter skin untouched. Over multiple treatment sessions, this process reduces hair growth, leading to long-lasting hair reduction or even permanent hair removal in some cases.

•  Avoid direct sun exposure to the treatment area (2 weeks prior and post your treatment)
•  Avoid the application of fake tan and tanning products such as self-tanning moisturiser to the treatment area (2 weeks prior)

What To Expect

Immediate Effects: You may experience some redness and swelling in the treated area, which typically subsides within a few hours to a day.

Hair Shedding: Treated hairs may appear to grow as usual for a week or two before shedding. This is a normal part of the hair removal process as the treated follicles are expelled from the skin.

Delayed Hair Growth: Over the following weeks, you'll notice a gradual reduction in hair growth as the treated follicles become inactive. It may take multiple sessions to achieve desired results, as hair grows in cycles and not all follicles are affected at once.

Sensitivity: Treated skin may be temporarily sensitive to touch or warm water, but any discomfort is usually mild and short-lived.

Optimal Results: For best results, follow the recommended treatment schedule provided by your skincare professional at Innskin. With each session, you'll notice further reduction in hair growth and smoother skin.

Long-term Benefits: Laser hair removal offers long-lasting hair reduction or even permanent hair removal in some cases, providing a convenient and effective solution for unwanted hair.
